Distributor Display

Ohio Revised Code Section 4517.22

A new motor vehicle being displayed in any public place in which only one motor vehicle is displayed.

I understand that any provisions as set forth in 4517.22 of the R.C. that have been violated, the motor vehicle dealer board may order an administrative penalty for each violation, including but not limited to each sale that occurs, and each day a violation occurs or continues to occur.

Distributor Display Requirements

A motor vehicle displayed by the distributor, must comply with the following:

  • The distributor must submit an affidavit requesting the Registrar’s approval not less than thirty (30) days before the planned opening date of the show.
  • All vehicles must belong to the distributor.
  • No contracts may be signed, deposits taken, or sales consummated at the location.


Additional Requirements

All new motor vehicle distributors that have filed an affidavit(s) with the BMV for a distributor display must maintain a copy of the affidavit(s) for their records for one (1) year from the last day of the display.
